Installing the WatchPAT® ONE
To install the WatchPAT® ONE app on your cell phone, just scan the barcode on the side of the box. Or download the WatchPAT® ONE application to your mobile device (available on Apple App Store and Google Play Store).
Step-by-step Instructions
The WatchPAT® ONE app contains step-by-step instructions for the device application and use by pressing the ‘Preview’ button. Additionally, inside the WatchPAT device box you will find hardcopy instructions, a PDF copy is attached below.
Preparation for Use
- Insert the battery into the back of the WatchPAT® ONE device.
- Your cell phone should be located no more than 5 meters/15 ft. away from you. *Plug your phone into its charger for the night.
- Remove all rings and other jewelry. No hand lotion please.
- Fingernail must be cut short, remove nail polish, and remove false fingernail if applicable.
- Place the finger probe on your non-dominant hand, any finger but NOT the thumb. Ensure your finger is inserted all the way into the probe, then pull the plastic tab, located on the top of the probe, slowly towards you.
- Ensure you sleep alone, and without any other Bluetooth devices active in the room ie. Alexa, another smartphone, or other smart devices.
WatchPAT® ONE App
- Open the WatchPAT® ONE application and allow all permissions required by the application.
- The app will welcome you and ask you for a PIN: 2538
- After you have applied the device and you are ready to sleep, hit the ‘Start’ button and the study will start recording.
- Your cell phone will go into sleep mode during the night, (screen goes dark), but will still be recording throughout the night. You may use your cell phone in the usual manner with the device app running in the background, as long as you do not end the application of the WatchPAT app.
- Do not worry about any flashing lights on the WatchPAT® ONE device itself.
- If you wake in the night and leave the room, there is no need to take your cell phone, nor remove the device. The study will pause, then resume upon your return to bed.
Ending the Sleep Study
In the morning when you wake up, simply tap to wake up your cell phone and hit the ‘End Recording’ button. The data will then be transferred to our secure Cloud and we will send this to your email within 24 hours.
